Thanks JR - (much better thanks BUT loads of my old yard are moving here too! just hope a certain family dont aghhghghghghghghghgh)
My vets are quite unusual - they dont push supplements at you - they will comment on what you suggest but not push anything - they dont even do their own brand like a big practice i used to be at...... and everytime they came out, I was suprisingly recomended a supplement for this, and a supplement for that.....? wonder why?
When I messed up my elbow, dislocated and bust up all the ligaments, I have taken supplements daily since I did it. If I stop taking them for a week I really notice it and the arm starts hurting and stiffens up.
I am taking Boots Glucosamine, Chondroitin and MSM, at maximum strength. MSM for ligament repair, Glucosamine for joint mobility and chondroitin for the ligaments (I think).
I would recommend all 3, my physio says they have definitely made a big difference to my arm's repair.
I know, I'm not a horse but I can say first hand that a supplement containing all 3 DOES work.
Thanks for all the answers - just checked out NAF's site and they seam to have two suppliments that may fit the bill
NAF MSM - just pure MSM or Fiver Star Superflex that has Glucosamine, Chondrolin and MSM.... off to the local feed merchants tomorrow - but if anyone has any recomendations still please let me know
mother nature will determine the recovery time! some supplements help a little but personnaly i would get some magnetic boots and either box or paddock rest as vet thinks fit! and when returning to work a minimum of 6 to 8 weeks road work! in walk! increasing in time.
