As the post says, I'm looking for a 16 or 17 inch synthetic saddle to suit a 14.2hh rather round and witherless Highland mare. Thinking synthetic as limited budget. Any suggestions please! (I'm used to fitting Thoroughbreds!)

Hi I have a thorowgood griffen 17in xw saddle. It came with my highland in july and he has now slimmed down and my own leather saddle fits him so I am possibly looking to sell it. It is in very good condition. PM me if you're interested.

Im sorry but I hate Thorowgoods! I have a Griffin one and its horrible. Its the most uncomfy saddle Ive ever ridden in! BUT my Wintec Wide is SO comfy and fits my round Welsh D well (who also doesnt have withers). With CAIR, its also extremely lightweight.

I have a wintec pro for my tbx mare & it is lovely & comfy and fits perfectly. I bought a wintec VSD with cair for my new mare & it was absolutely horrid. I don't actually ride my welsh c but her rider said the Thorowgood was very comfy and it was a very good fit for the pony.

When i had my highland to start with i rode her in a old style thorowgood maxam i found the newer thorowgoods were no good and sat up to high hope this helps
