Best trailer for 'long' horse??

My horse appears to be a little too long for my trailer (a 2012 Beatson Deauville). He's only 16.1hh but an IDx so has quite a large derriere on him. He takes a 6'9" rug. I tried him in an Ifor 506 (?) and he was totally squished in. So much so I had to travel him without the breech bar. But height was an issue there too. So I then went with the Deauville where the height is perfect but he's still squished in. Can anyone recommend a suitable trailer that has a bigger space between breast and breech bar? I need a trailer that can take two horses - but my other is a 14.2 connie who fits perfectly. I prefer trailers with a suspension system that makes it comfy for horse (like Cheval / Bateson).
 
My old girl is 15.3hh, 6ft9 rug, skinny bum but big belly (yeah I know, she's a very odd shape) and fits in a 511 very comfortably, tonnes of room and once she's in (takes some doing :lol: ) travels very happily. My other one is a chunktastic IDx (possibly crossed with a rhino), 16hh but high head carriage, big bottom and 6ft6 to 6ft9 rug has enough room in the 511 but wouldn't want anything smaller I don't think.
 
My 7ft rug 17"2 fitted beautifully in my Cheval Liberte Mare and Foal (it is the lenght/height of a 510). I am selling it sadly as I had to retire my horse, sucha fab trailer.
 
I don't know about brands of trailer, but double check the length between the breast bar and the front of the trailer. some of them are not long enough to take the length of neck, or the side angles in too soon and the horse has to travel with his head slightly to one side one time. If you measure how far your own horse is from stable door to nose when he is standing with his head well out of the stable, then allow a bit morefor sudden stops (as they will be shunted forward if you have to brake hard) then you will be surprised how much room they need up front.
Have seen some trucks in particular where the horse will end up with concussion if they driver has to stop in a hurry, and also won't have enough room to reach their head out to cough/blow nose etc. increasing risk of choke and respiratory issues.
 
The 511 is huge in the nose. So much so that the can't reach a haynet tied to the front bar! :lol: If you do use haynet when travelling get a haynet bar thing for above the door. We're doing mad things with lead roles at the moment but the second there's any spare money (If that ever happens) for it I'm getting a haynet bar fitted!

I had that type of trailer originally - when I only had the IDx. The only thing I didn't like about the trailer was the pull down sheet at the back.
 
Richardson supreme is a good size of trailer. I have this and it makes our big horses look small. Our old horse was a 6'9 and he had plenty of space behind/in front of him.

Just looked online at the Richardson Supreme Excel. It looks good!! The only thing I couldn't find was the length between breast and breech bars.
 
It is quite a long trailer and great for towing. I think they are designed with clydesdales in mind.

Thank you that does help! Now to get my measuring tape out... I'll pop round the neighbours too to measure their 511 (they've also said I can borrow it to take my horses out for a test run).
