getting a trailer v excited . like ifor williams 505 ,to carry daughters 14.3 and occasionally 16.1 warmblood. which trailer do people recomend and why.got a fourtrack to tow so think its capable of most. also looking at breakdown cover who do you use?

If I were going to get another trailer I'd go for the Bateson Ascot. It's a neat and tidy trailer with the front ramp on the kerb side and has a very handy tack locker at the front, and somehow the ramp seems in a better position for offloading than the Ifor. The Ascot is the top of the range model so out of my budget. In fact I don't have a budget so will stick to my ancient Ifor!!

I've got my Trailer and Fourtrack insured with NFU plus horsey breakdown cover. Haven't had to claim anything yet (thank god!)

I used to own an ifor 505 and at the time really liked it although my mare never travelled particually well in it, swapped to a lorry as was doing a lot of overnight competing, then a year ago ish went back to car and trailer and ended up buying a cheval liberte 2003xl. I far prefer it to my ifor it tows better and more smoothly is lighter and more airy inside, i have a tack locker inside to keep essentials and most importantly my horse travels better in it!
For breakdown always used anthony evans and cant fault them.

Bateson Deauville or Ascot model. They are well built, front ramp opens to kerbside, ride well, lighter than the Ifors & will carry up to 17h horses. Both have saddle racks at the front, Ascot being in a cupboard Deauville having a vinyl cover over.

They hold their value well & depreciation after the first year or so is negligible.....that's why people seem to hold onto them.

I also love the Bateson. We have the Ascot - brilliant. Very light to tow. Really bright and airy inside (as its white). My horses love it. Also love the features (ie. tack locker is so useful).

Bateson are also very helpful! My horse smashed one of the lights the other day so we ordered another one - it arrived the very next morning.

If you decide on the 505 I'd try one first as my 16.1 wouldnt fit in it. I know people put bigger horses in them but I think it depends on the build, head carriage etc. The dealership even said to me they thought they were more of a pony box with the 510 being much better for horses.
Given the choice though I'd go for the Bateson.
