I have an amazon voucher left over from my birthday that I'd like to spend on a vet manual. There seem to be quite a few, so I was hoping someone might be able to recommend one?I was thinking of the Hayes one, but wasn't sure. Oh, and I don't mind if it's technical. Thanks!

It depends on how much you have to spend but one of the best books I tend to browse through is my OH's (hes a Vet) Adams' Lameness In Horses, it is very technical but superb, the other one that is very good is Blacks Veterinary Manual, this is for everything, not just lameness. Happy reading!

I have one that I like very much, The complete equine veterinary manual, by Tony and Marcy Pavord. I've found it v.good and user friendly, as an aspiring vet student it has been very helpful.
Happy reading

I have one called The Vetinary Manual for the Performance Horse, don't know if its still published as I'm sure I've had it years and years but its very good.

Thanks for the advice everyone! I had the exact amount of money I needed to get the above book, so it's on it's way. I look forward to winter evenings reading about obscure things that can go wrong with horses!!
