I have a Bay TB mare (ex racehorse) I am hoping to do a few ridden classes with her this summer....... She is beautiful, with lovely clean legs, all bar a couple of scars down each cannon bone, from very old pressure sores from bandaging.

Can anyone suggest a way of covering these up?

It is just white hair - Almost in need of hair dye!

I actually use hair dye on my girls black legs where mud rash left her permanently white on parts, obviously you have to test it on a small area first.
But for a short time effect there are some products from a company called 'Supreme Products' that do kind of horse make up

I wondered if I could get away with a wash in/wash out dye but felt like I was being a bad Mum in using it!!

I thought of trying 'Bodyshops' Hemp hair dye - All natural and no nasty chems in there!!

Black leather dye - we use 'Ravens Oil' which may be a New Zealand brand. Used on Black legs to just darken them enough to emphasise the black especially knees and hocks. You put on a small amount with a sponge then blend.
It really covers scars well - it also will wash off with warm water and soap.
these two have had Ravens oil used above socks, on knees and hocks.
