I meant to ask for your opinions on feeding an emaciated horse as well.......

There is an amazing new group in Egypt called Continental Rescue & Rehab who are rescuing abused and neglected (severely emaciated) horses in Egypt, the providing the correct rehabilitation necessary (so easy to overfeed and cause a colic etc) and then find forever homes for these lovely horses. the homes are properly checked and a binding contract put in place, the horses come back to CRR should anything happen that the new 'owners' can no longer care for them.

Do please visit their FB page link below) and see the remarkable transformations brought about with these, seemingly hopeless, cases. I know the girls will welcome your support.

Thank you kindly and heres hoping for a positive New Year for both humans and animals alike xxx

If you contact the welfare people, WHW for instance they should be able to advise. As far as I am aware it should be fibre which is fed,in small quantities and no cereals. The problem is with the kidneys and liver, the horse eats after being starved and might die a few days later as its internal organs cannot cope with the food,so just a little, high fibre eg hay and build up slowly.
