This winter I was thinking of putting my horse on sugar beet this winter, but i have never really feed sugar beet.

My question; How do you feed it? do you..
A. Feed it with a mix and chaff
B. Just a mix/ chaff
C. on it's own

All answers/ advice kindly welcomed :D

Unmolassed beet or normal beet (but rinse it after soaking until the water runs clear).

Normal beet is 20% sugar (and 1% starch) round here

It's a rapidly fermented fibre source - so you can just feed it on it's own safely.

I am mixing it with unmolassed hay chaff at the moment though.

I soak one dry scoop of speedibeet or kwikbeet and then once soaked i feed one scoop per feed along with Dengie HiFi chop and some pony nuts.

Speedibeet and kwikbeet are ready to use in 10 mins.
