Apart from the usual checking of tack shop boards is there anywhere else that people advertise potential loans these days? Online, places etc.

I think i am kind of perfect for one i.e i have a great yard, plenty of love and time to give, not that i myself am perfect for everyone/horse!
I'm just having problems coming across some, unless of course not many people are wanting to loan their horses out.

I put a wanted advert on NFED and another couple of horse websites. Our loan pony arrived last weekend. Took a while to get some replies and then got lots. Lots of dodgy ones to sift through but they are out there. Also got let down twice by two that were arranged and then pulled out right at the last minute. We are looking for another one as well so will be seeing a few more over the next few weekends. Other than that, word of mouth really.

You often get good loan ads on the normal horse selling sites but one of the best ways is word of mouth thought that is a bit biased as I got my boy through word of mouth, though I do know several others :)

I'm in west Herts and looking for a 'safe/sensible' horse or pony for hacking, dressage, small jumps mainly to have fun with maybe the odd test nothing to serious or heavy!

When I was looking for a loan I put a wanted ad on "horse to loan (.com)" and "equine adverts (.co.uk)" and got a lot of responses from them - maybe try those?

I'm looking too, but everyone seems to want to keep their ponies at its present yard where I have my own land, its very fustrating! I put an ad on preloved but only got one response.

I found my loan girl on horsemart loan section. She was an absolute peach and her owner is wonderful too. It was a very, very happy loan for both parties. I don't have the mare anymore (sadly the daffy animal broke her leg hairing about in the field and was PTS just after she left me :( )but still keep in touch with her owner via facebook :)
