Best way to get Stockholm tar off horses coat?

I started using this last week on my filly's feet but unwittingly bought the thick messy stuff straight from tin, have ordered the spray now! Anyhoo a bit has gotten on her back and a few fingerprints on her nose. Would olive oil loosen it up to try and pull off? I heard oil based things work but that's all I have in my cupboard to hand.

Vinegar might shift it.

Baby oil shifts just about everything given enough time, in my experience. My daughter's mare managed to Anoint her one white sock with the stuff, and baby oil shifted it.

It's good at sorting out thrush. . (The stockholme tar, not the baby oil )
