Ok so Clover is a fatso, she's currently living off fresh air :) we're eagerly awaiting my delivery of leccy fencing so we can start restricting her grazing.

I know only too well with a previous laminitis prone horse, how important it is however I think I need some guidance on the best method.

We are on very good grazing, it's on my OHs sheep farm, so you can imagine. We are also on S Wales hills. Whats my best method - track grazing round the perimetre (that'll include some nice steep bits) or small paddock til it gets bare? We have a muzzle awaiting but never found them that useful as my horses always get them off! or simple abstinence and soaked hay??

Thanks guys :)

Not fond of muzzles with hot weather etc but great fan of electric fencing instead. If we get a shower on the grass I really watch this too. Mine eats for England. I know he is getting plenty if his heads down when I drive past his field or he shows no interest in hassling me.Also approx 6 poos a day if its more or grassy in comes the electric fence.

If its bone dry and no rain and less poos I might move the fence by about 6 inches out(for about 20 yards.Thats it!

If its a field that has not been grazed on and he is in a smaller area I would give some ad lib hay ie I dont agree with starving.

Mine is just in a rectangle of it and I just unwind a bit. I have also in the past got one strip of tape ie a divider running across the middle , that I can move along across a field.
