We've had a really good growing season again which means I have well over double the quantity of haylage I need for my own horses. I suspect the market up here (Scotland) will be flooded because everyone else will have made loads too. I get the impression that England has done less well, but with only 20 bales to sell I presume it wouldn't be worth anyone's effort to ship it south. What do I do - advertise here, now/ wait until the start of the winter/ advertise it nationally? I've never sold forage before so no idea!

Is storage space an issue now? If so I'd advertise on local fb groups and see if you get anyone interested. People round here are stocking up now (OH just delivered 50 rounds off the field to one yard today ?)

If you can store it until jan / feb that is a time when people are more likely to run out

Otherwise advertise on a local fb group or similar

You'll probably get a better price for it if you can store until spring. Folk start to run out of hay / haylage - I think later than Wheels does. IME it is more march / April but that might be geographical! Plus if we have a hard winter the prices might increase too.
