Best way to travel pup to new home

Hi all.
I have just bred a litter of Westies and they will be going to their new homes in about 4 weeks. One of the new homes is about a 3 hour car journey away. How should the little one travel? Dog crate or is there a better way for such a small person? This will be the pups 1st journey and the new owners want advice and I just thought you guys might have some good ideas or experience you could share.

Snuggly bed/teddy bear and a cat carrier, less motion and puppy will sleep as opposed to wriggle on a knee, you could even buy a carrier and place a blanket and teddy bear in and have puppy spend some time whilst still with you to become familiar with it, I would advise them to use the carrier as a method of travel there on after to encourage a good traveller and tell them to take the puppy out in car for short periods frequently.

Thank you so much for your reply ! A cat carrier is a brilliant idea and one I had not even thought of. I was going to send pup to its new home with some of its vet bed anyway, so it had familiar smells around it when settling in. But now I will buy a cat carrier, more vet bed and get the new owners to bring a soft teddy bear when they come to meet the pup next week and this way I will be able to get all four puppies used to going in it before I wave bye bye.

I bought Harvey home in a cat carrier. He has never created in the car and I firmly believe travelling in a way I meant to go on has helped.

He's 8 months old now (a Cocker Spaniel) and I use a Vari Sky Kennel in the back of my 4x4 to travel him.

Thanks for that link it was very helpful.I am going to buy a cat carrier and get all four of the pups used to it very gently. I am sure that by the time they are 6 weeks old it will be part of their fun games routine ie lets trash the soft blanket and kill the teddy bear!
I would love to post pics of the sweet little things...they look like beanie baby polar bears but I am not sure how to? Instructions needed...
