Best way to treat mites on legs?

In the past I have used pig oil and sulphur and DMAX injections (from vet). I tend to wash with very dilute hibiscrub as well!
 
My hairy cob has suffered from mites for the past year and I have tried ......injections, pig oil and sulpher, itch buster, hibi scrub and he's still stamping and itching his heels. Vet said I should take his feathers off and put frontline on each leg which is what I've done today so hope it works. There appears to be a lot of flaky skin underneath so I'll need to treat that too, not too sure what to se on that though.

Clip feathers off completly, wash with hibiscrub, dry with a clean towel, spray on front line and then use MSM cream. We used to do that with mine and it worked but you need to keep it up!

Thanks, will definately keep it up and will be so good to see him itch free :)
