Damp or dry?

I have a Haflinger so want to use a bit on his legs to brighten them up for today's show. I washed his legs yesterday. Do I apply to dry legs and then brush out, or to damp legs allow to dry and brush out?

Thanks

I find it easier to apply dry.

This is what I use for my Clydesdales socks - baby powder the type used for nappy rash - here in NZ it's called Curash. Mix with warm water to a soft paste and scrub into socks, bandage until dry then brush out any excess - result blinding white socks.

I've found the best way is to apply straight after the bath while the leg is wet (although you don't need to wet the chalk but I use loose powder chalk rather than a block as it gets in better) then leave overnight and in the morning brush out. Produces a wonderful gleaming white without residue

I buy the powder and mix it to a paste with a bit of wager thdn paint it on with a paint brush. Then bandage the legs and brush it all out when we arrive at the show.
