...to get Bute down a horse who hates it? He's been on bute for a week now and is sick of it. He will now not eat any food which has even once been in the vague proximity of a sachet of bute. I put it in his feed - doesn't eat a bite of it. I've tried it in an apple - spat it out. I've mixed it up with sugar beet - untouched. I've made up a molassas mix - spat out. I've made a sugar and bute "tea" and syringed it down his gob - reared up, tried to kick me, and spat it out.
HELP!!!

Get your vet to give you Dannillon instead. It is sugar coated - and horses will eat it straight from your hand.

I should have asked for Danilion (sp?) but wasn't thinking so I've got Bute - and don't fancy paying twice.....

danilon is great if not in custard and syringe it down. or try in freezer first as meant to kill the taste a bit.
