I am looking for a really comfy warm, good looking pair of winter riding boots. My fleece lined ones unfortunately got eaten by rats at the stables!!! I have checked out a few internet sites and quite like the look of the Mark Todd Cook tall boots. However my calfs are very slim, so I worry slightly about buying on the internet as sizes can vary!!! I ended up by 2 sizes two small just so my calves didnt look too thin in boots for summer. Don't think this would work in winter with needing bigger socks etc. Soooo, anyone know of these boots and if sizes come up big or small, or any other suggestions?? Thanks. Also would go and try some on but only one good shop near me (in France) and they are like 300 euros for a pair of decent boots, if not its the rubbish ones which I don't want for winter.

Ariat Bromonts - the insulated ones. These are incredibly comfortable, will fit a slim leg and are toasty, toasty warm :)

I have the Mark todd cook boots for the winter. I too have slim calves and they were fine for me. They have quite thick insulation in the foot and when I first got them they felt a little tight around my toes, so thin socks were better. But after a while they either stretched or the padding got thinner so they had more room in them. They are deffinately warm in rotten weather but they only lasted 1 1/2 winters for me as where the foot part meets the leg part (Technical term lol) they split slighly so were no longer waterproof. In their defence though our yard is exceptionally muddy in the winter and all the constant cleaning off of the mud probably shortened their lives! I have just bought Toggi Calgary boots in preparation for this winter which I will need to wear with thick socks as they are a little big for me, I'll have to see how they stand up to the extremes of the british winter lol!

I also had the Mark Todd winter boots, fabulous boots, kept my feet warm and dry, but just like the lady above, they did not last long, I got just about 2 winters from them and they too slpit in same place as you describe. Im now looking for another winter boot, im thinking of getting the Toggi calvary boots and so wondered if you had got them and if you would recommend, positive or negatives comments welcome. Also just wondering what boots the 1st lady got in the end? were they good??? Any recommendations welcomed . thanks.
