Best Wormer for a Pregnant Mare???

My mare was wormed December 2008 when I purchased her with StrongidP. I didn't know she was in foal then! Now I know she is pregnant I have been checking her "bits" every night as I have no idea when she is due. Tonight I was greated with a bum full of wriggly white worms!!! What wormer would be safe to use on her asap?

TBH most wormers are safe, and will say on the box or data sheet, theres only a couple that are not. I'd take a sample of the worms down to the vets and make sure you get a wormer that kills that type. I've used equimax on my pregnant girls as that kills everything.

get in touch with vet asap coz i know alot are safe until the the horse is so many months pregnant!

I have a list of wormers suitable for in-foal mares and for foals, saying if and when they may be used. Nearly all wormers are safe for in-foal mares. Pramox says NO for infoal mares but Equimax YES, although they contain the same active ingredients. This is because one company paid to test, the other didn't. I am not saying however that you can ignore when a wormer says NO
