I'm going through Ariat Grasmeres (not good now they're £200+ a pair

) and getting fed up with the fact that my current pair leak.

So, I'm going to try saving them for riding and get some other yard boots, but I'm SO fussy. I hate my hunter wellies because my feet get cold and the soles are really slippery, so they are already out. Muck boots are out because I don't like the way the leg bit is really baggy and floppy around the ankles.

They must be warm, TOTALLY waterproof, ideally long boots with "leg-shaped" leg bit - or else ankle boots, with proper non-slip soles.

I've got to try on some Ariat wellies which my friend recommended, but I thought I'd ask you lovely people if you have any other suggestions.

I know you have said no to muck boots, but they really are the ones for me. I am a new convert but i seriously am the only one on the yard with warm dry feet, and i only wear 1 pair of thin socks in them.
If you dont like the original ones, what about the riding style ones they have done, they are longer in the leg and shaped so may fit calf better?or even the short version?

I have a pair of Toggi Calgary boots, they have stood up pretty well to abuse from me since I bought them back in September, worn every day and keep my feet lovely and toasty. I have short stick legs and they fit really well

Either those or Mountain Horse Protective Rider boots, the lace up ones with steel toe cap, they are dead comfy and keep toes toasty too

Ditto this. I found them bulky around the ankle when I tried them on but 2 weeks later they're the best thing since sliced bread

Thanks very much for your recommendations. I might try on the short muck boots but I really didn't like the long ones I tried. I'll look out for the others and try them, cheers.

my muck boots lasted only a few months! ( it was the long ones though )

Toggi calgary on the other hand I find excellant value for money. Mark todd ones too are good.

I would buy another pair of Muck boots if they only lasted a month at a time. They are the best for keeping your feet warm, even in just a thin pair of socks as Blue Bear said. Mine have lasted well over a year though, not the most stylish but who cares?!
