Hi,

I seem to have one of the rare Dublin river boots which have lasted over 3 years before going to the bin, but it does leave me short of some nice yard boots. I prefer leather boots to rubber wellies, does anyone have any recommendations?

I know the Ariat's are lovely, but having just bought a pair of Ariat riding boots and a new winter coat, my budget can't stretch quite that far at the moment!

Thanks

I have been lucky and got a pair of the k*ty ones that have lasted me two winters and im hoping this winter too. I know others have had problems with them so I guess im a lucky one!

I have got fed up with leaky wellies, I wore Dickies dealer boots for the summer for doing yard jobs in and have now bought Stanley steel toe rigger boots - the leather mid calf pull on type. I wore them all day yesterday and they were extremely comfortable and dry!!

I have hkm belmond boots (£60) on eBay and they last me about 8 months of daily all day use walking miles and miles through mud and I never clean them! I've had 3 pairs so far and nothing compares! The button/name pin often falls off but is just aesthetic.

I just bought a pair of toggi canyons this year after reading/hearing several good reports. And I must say they are fab, really toastie and not terrible to ride in either (I usually hate riding in anything but proper riding boots). Lots of people iv spoken have had them for several winters with no leakages and toastie toes. Mine were about £90 off eBay :)

I replaced my 3 yr old river boots with Ariat Stormbusters. They are wellies but they don't feel anything like wellies when they are on, I was very pleasantly surprised by them. They also have soles suitable for riding and don't flap around your calves like wellies. But they aren't leather so not actually what you were asking for ;0)

Thanks for the suggestions everyone! There's a good few for me to look into. I just love having boots I can slide around the mud in, hose off and they look smart enough to wear out in public!!

I love my Dublins but the reviews for the new waterproof ones are so appaling I am going to steer clear.

I love my Just Toggs Alberta steel toecap boots. I get through two pairs a year though wearing them for around 8 hours a day. They are fully waterproof, comfortable from day one and nice and light to wear. They are currently half price from Equestrian clearance (£25) so I bought two pairs.
