Ways to get a better bond between you and your horse! Any tips?

I love doing bombproofing it gets your horse to trust your more in scary situations.

I do things like putting flags on poles and walking him in between, kicking a beach ball around, opening umbrellas and stuff

Just spending time grooming/giving them a scratch/being with them is always good

I like finding my horses scratchy spot and just giving them a good itch

Try to be a sensible, horse-educated, non-scary person? This seems to be a challenge to some people.....

Spend lots of time with your horse. Not just riding but grooming and also just spend time in the field.

I find that you bond with your horse more if you spend time with it on the ground rather than riding.
Lots of grooming, walking, talking/singing, bombproofing.. Gaining it's trust.

I love bombproofing my 2yr old as he really enjoys it too so we have fun together. Just keep spending time with your horse you will naturally do things that will create a bond. A great one is going out for walks in hand and chatting.

Talking to your horse is a good one I love to have little chats with mine it's a stress reliever for you and they seem to enjoy being talked too

most of all really just take your time it grows.

although I will say, one way to not improve your bond is to keep fussing your horse when they clearly just want to do their own thing. I have one who makes it known that he's no longer interested in my attentions

I don't really understand all this bonding thing .
I am in charge ,my horses ( mostly ) toe the lines I set everybodies happy.
One thing I never do is pester my horses in the field that's their time to be horses.

I'm with you on this one.....we all respect each other and I don't annoy them if they don't annoy me.
