I think I only just caught my laminitic in time- I have been checking I can still feel her ribs every night when I bring her in and I could, so thought all was well. Also, I have been riding her twice a week and thought she looked very nice last time I rode her, about 4/5 days ago. Well, I took her rug off for a proper look today in daylight and nearly died of shock- in those 4/5 days she has gone from 'about right', to 'turning into an elephant'! I can still feel her ribs and see them when she moves, but that is the only thin bit of her- she even had a little crest :-( So we went for some exercise and she is now officially in her starvation paddock for the Summer. So, just a warning really- it doesn't look like there is any grass in our field but there is obviously LOADS so double check your laminitics!!

Yep totally second that, its amazing how quickly they gain, and owning a severe laminitic myself I a very aware and always want to warn others away from the heartache when prevention can sometimes save your ned from it
