I've received a very dodgy email which I don't believe is from Bauer (the publishers of Your Horse). I'm not sure where they would have got my address but it's likely there will be a few people on here with the emails too.

I am going to endeavour to find out if it's genuine or not and will let you know but just beware, as always, of clicking links in emails.

Whenever I go to a well known shopping site, and I am just browsing, I get an invoice from a sister site which is alarming, I have complained and they say "don't open any attachments, I can't believe I am the only one,,,,, it is amazing [ what technology can do ]

I got the same email.
Link at top to view email in web page goes to Your Horse site. Has Bauer links at bottom, and searched my inbox with the email address and all my Your Horse emails have come from that address?

Anyone can put Bauer's address in an email and scammers are very good at either cloning websites or fooling you. What they want is for you to call or text with your personal details, so they will have no problem linking you to the genuine site. The short code at least is a generic one you can 'hire' as it were. The main 'alarm' to me was the fact that there's no details of charges for the text when it will probably cost you about £1.50.

As I said I have contacted Bauer and will let you know the outcome. Better to be safe than sorry.

What I was trying to say in the original post, is that the link in the email, http://view.e.yourhorse.co.uk/?j=fe...4007c7612&jb=ff971577&ju=febf1c737c66077a&r=0 goes to show the same information on the your horse site, under their domain name.

If you search that domain name, http://whois.domaintools.com/yourhorse.co.uk it is the same domain as Your Horse and owned by Bauer.

It also says that calls cost max of 5p per minute. So I have checked this out, and the fact the same information is on the YH website, says it is NOT a scam.

Do you understand what I am trying to say now???

Not sure why you're hostile..... have merely pointed out that if someone was scamming and trying to get your details via phone or text they would direct you towards the genuine site to make it seem more real. And what I said is that there are NO charges shown for TEXT messages.

As I said I have contacted Bauer so will let you know the outcome - I'm sorry for trying to warn people about a possible scam but identity theft is a real possibility and this is how it happens!
