bhs coach vs horse sport ireland qualification

i am considering doing a coaching qualification

and i am am trying to find out which is better to start with

bhs coaching going through the bhs levels
or
horse sport Ireland (i may do the introduction to coaching course its not dear and can give me a good idea what is involved)

i know you can do both
has any one experience with either

my current coach is level 3 atm and the yard owner is hsi level 2

It's interesting looking at the requirements for the higher levels - ie for the HSI Level 1 Apprentice coach, you either need your BHSAI/BHS Stage 3 complete coach, Irish PC B test, or the HSI Introduction to Coaching. If you then look at the HSI Introduction to Coaching, it's a one day course, whereas getting your AI could take six months/a year...

BHS does give you an all round knowledge because you're examined across everything (ride, lunge, coach, care, business management at higher levels etc). The HSI coaching is solely about coaching, same as the UK coaching courses. What do you want to be? An all round coach with quals to boot, or someone who only wants to assessed on your coaching?
