I failed my stage 3 , 2 years ago just the tacking up section , I'm retaking it now in the new format of the bhs exams , has the marking changed ? I've seen some people's certificates with pass or distinction?
Thanks in advance

You get the distinction if you take and pass all the sections on the same day I think. Otherwise you can bank the ones you do pass and re-take the others. But the certificate only says pass?

Thanks ! So in that section that I'm taking say if I fail putting on boots etc but pass double bridle etc will I still fail the whole tacking up section

The pass/distinction no longer exists under the new system. I passed all of Stage Two care, lunge and ride in the same day back in September and did not get a distinction written anywhere on my certificates or pass sheets. You only receive the certificates once you've passed the elements that make up the new exam names. Ie to get the Foundation Groom certificate (which is the Stage 2 care and lunge award) you must pass both sections.
