Ok so basically i`d like to do some qualification but am complelty confused cos i`m a numpty I`m more interested in the teaching side but dont really mind I dont want to do it as a main career but just for my own use and maybe as a part time job alongside

Hope this makes sense so if anyone could expain/recommend anything i`d be really grateful!

if you just want to do it along side another job than u need to take your bhs stages and bhs teaching exam. i believe its called PTT, but i think im wrong.

I think you need to do your bhs stages one and two and your riding and road safety and then take your ptt and complete 500 hours of tuition in order to become a qualified AI. It could take you quite some time to do this if you want to get the qualification along side another full time job.

It has changed now, no more 500 hrs teaching. You need to do BHS stage 1,2&3, riding and road safety and PTT. Then you need to complete a teaching portfolio and you are an AI, if you need any more help just ask!

First, you need to become a Gold Member of the BHS (around £50).
Then you need to work your way through your BHS Stages exams, starting with Stage 1 (more info http://www.bhs.org.uk/content/Edu-Exams.asp)
To get your AI, will cost you more than £500 in exam fees, not considering the training you will have to pay for.
Then, to teach, you will need to keep your First Aid qualification up to date, pay for Gold Membership each year, pay for a CR check, and pay for insurance each year.
It's an expensive business, and it would take you a long time to recoup your outgoings.
