The Stage 4 has not yet changed with the new BHS structure, the plan is that it will be updated in 2018. That said, as with the other assessments, the content is unlikely to change hugely so you can look at the current syllabus for guidance regardless of when you plan to take it.

Practical knowledge is really important, not just textbook information.

I really enjoyed my stage 4, although I did manage to fail the lungeing a horse for improvement 3 times... as Ruth says It was much more a practical ' get on with it'/ talk from your own experience type of exam rather than regurgitating text book answers.
ITT the same if your are thinking about It, I taught just as I would in real life, my jump rider fell off two minutes in to her warm up, my lunge horse was a crock, and passed.

The stage 4 is a tough professional qualification ,not easily won. Practical competence and the ability to justify your observations . No place for "mouth music". You put your self at a serious disadvantage if you are not fit,and I mean hard riding fit. Those that pass can feal justifiably proud of their achievement.
