BHS Stages to help confidence crisis?

After 7 years of disabling joint injuries I have been repaired and will be able to be horsey again!

I rode on-off in the injury years and had no confidence problems riding fit competition horses, ex-racers, green horses, etc. however on the ground is a different story. Had a few incidents in the past - kick to the face, trampled in the field, dislocated shoulder in a mounting block disagreement - these flash up in my head at even the slightest sign of non-cooperation. Thinking about certain aspects such as turning out, catching, handling wayward hind legs makes me extremely anxious. How can I overcome this?

Was considering taking BHS Stages evening courses so I can get a supervised re-introduction to horses, have seen places offering them in London/Essex between £300 - £1000 (!), does anyone have experience of these?

Any help/advice would be so greatly appreciated :), my long term goal is horse ownership, and the care part is what I have really missed!
