I am a 28yr old married mother of two small children and i currently hold my BHSPT,and am working towards my Stage 3 riding to complete my AI. I was not fortunate enough to be brought up in a horsey family, have never actually owned my own horse, although had various on loan in the past so have had to grab any oppurtunity with both hands. I started my BHS exams 12yrs ago when i was 16 and passed my stage 1, 2 and 3 care fairly quickly, whilst failing my PTT and stage 3 riding at the age of 18. I re-took my PTT shortly after my first child was born. I now teach part time and ride and compete as and when i can juggle family life, I am fortunate enough to train with a Fellow of the BHS, paid for by my employer but have to payfor extra lessons elswhere which dont come cheap! So my point is that although some of us sail through our exams with ease, some of us dont and have to work extremly hard for them! dont get me wrong i'm not looking for sympathy, just some people think these qualifications are a walk in the park, when to me it is a life time achivement!
P.s. I must hold a record for taking the longest time to complete my BHSAI,any advances?
