Had a mixed weekend to say the least. The boy morphed into a complete TROLL....

..more on that later.
The girl was fantastic, very green in the main ring on friday but just had a pole in the fox&1.25. She was placed in the grade c on saturday but today was the most exciting day!
The trollhorse went and finished the weekend of complete retardness in style, and did the dirtiest stop I have ever had the pleasure to come across, and needless to say, I went splat. But then the girl came out and jumped a hoof perfect double clear to win the fox

Really pleased as there was a load of 'real' showjumpers there!
So a typical sjing weekend I guess, with massive highs and lows! But I had fun so its all good.
Any other Bicton goers? How did it go??

Sounds like a fun weekend - you can't blame being a troll on hormones either. Takes some to win a Fox at Bicton. Was it busy? And was everything where it should have been or have they already started pulling stuff down?

I know - no hormones or anything - I reckon being stabled 24/7 gave him ages to plot his next trick as well....but what goes around comes around - even for horses I reckon!

It was plenty busy enough - 40 average in main ring classes, quite nice really - enough but not crazy packed out. There was some work going on in some of the permenant lorry part but otherwise all was as normal.

Well done - sounds great

I took my youngster on Friday. He worked in beautifully but was so gobsmacked when he went in the ring on his own he slammed the brakes on Fence 1 and we didn't get further than fence 3 - a bit of a shock for me as he never stops.

Anyway, followed it up in the British Nov and he jumped round beautifully, just rolling a couple of poles - so I was dead pleased he actually learnt something.

Went again on Sunday and despite having to dodge large tractors spraying water everywhere, he was very laid back again. Jumped in the Web ring this time and he again jumped beautifully, in front on the leg and focused - however I rode the first fence like a lemon and we totally demolished it. He cantered to fence 2 though like nothing had happened - so at least I was forgiven!!

All in all, I was very pleased & it all went better than the score mark indicates - phew !!

Sounds like it was just babyish mistakes then - maybe he was a bit startled first time in the ring on the friday!
Its nice when they appear to have actually learnt & improved , well done.
And forgiveness is very important trait so its nice to know yours has it!
