Big bale hay = how many small bales?

As title - I'm going to look at a new yard over Easter & trying to work out cost v current yard. Possible new yard has big bale hay & I have no idea whether it works out dearer or not.
Don't know whether I will move but am always on the look out for somewhere better than where I am at the moment (with 3 that's not easy). Current yard has big advantages - so close I can see the horses from my bedroom, cheap, can live out, can hack to Pony club & some shows, can keep tack at home & son still be able to ride in holidays. But also has some big disadvantages - lack of maintenance or facilities, yard politics make me feel like I am walking on egg shells sometimes & the mud in winter is really, really bad.

I have had to move onto big bales as there is no small bales left. The farmer said approx 10-12small bales in a large bale. Large bale costs us £35 and small bales were £4 so if it is say 12 bales then it is defo better finacially wise.

Def cheaper, my last one was £26 and lasted me a month for 2 horses, think its between 12 and 15 small bales in a round one!

Looks like it's going to work out about the same I am paying now then but without me having to organise it which is a plus!

We use large round bales and they are the same as approx 10 small bales

We have large oblong bales and farmer said they hold around 16 small bales and cost us £20.

you are all so lucky we are currently being charged 40 pounds 4 a large oblong bale

I think it is about 10 - It does work out cheaper!
