So the last time I asked a horse to canter I got flung right up in the air and dumped HARD on the ground by a 16.3 horse. I had to go to the osteopath on Thursday and yes, I had put my back out but it's much better now.

From that horrid occasion just over a fortnight ago, I am going to put my brave pants on tomorrow and ask Breggey to canter. I've had a lesson on her and she has perfect manners - she is much more leg on than leg off and I just feel safe on her; she gives me confidence. We are going out for a hack tomorrow (well I am, my friend and son are going to walk with me) and have found a really nice hill that just gently slopes upwards. My plan is to just quietly have a little trot then sit down and ask her to canter. I have every faith she'll be a good girl with me and I won't eat dirt like I did on another 16.3. I've been doing NLP tapes etc and feel that bit by bit my confidence is coming back and I just have to trust her.

I'll report back tomorrow late pm .... am a mixture of looking forward to it with a teensy bit oh blimey - mainly looking forward to it though. Just wanted to share!!
