Big grins and Pricked ears

Captured by the photographer at a fun ride we attended yesterday, put on by our local hunt round beautiful Rutland countryside.

I came home and my other half asked how it was/ did Mabel behave... and i thought, not once have i come back from a ride on this little mare without a smile on my face. She's not angelic ... shes cheeky and enjoys herself but always looks after me. Which now i have a toddler is something i find myself appreciating a lot more !

She's one of those gold dust/ once in a life time types .

We both had a whale of a time ! This was taken just after saying to our friend shall we canter past the photographer ? And Mabel misheard canter for flat out gallop, cue friends pony kicking it up and a gear and us all laughing.

They are just such fun ponies

They are just the best , Mabel is the same a character but one that makes you laugh rather than a white knuckle ride !

Doesn't it just , I don't get to ride as much as I would like with a toddler (other half is a farmer so i do the majority of childcare ) - so when I do it's treasured .
Especially on a pony that seems to understand and gives it her all.
