Big help please shingles????

HI, has anyone's horses had shingles. We have an arab mare going through huge trauma of body twitching last several months. Up until now there has been no answer, but now it's thought maybe she has shingles though the stress facter is not there, nor is there any lameness or other illness, Thanks for reading......

Shingles is related to the chickenpox virus or it is in humans anyway, once you've had chickenpox the virus settles in the nerve endings and then flares up under stress, illness, etc (I've had it)...is that something horses can get too? If so I've just learnt something. Sorry I have no advice to offer otherwise though.

yes, youre right about that, my mother had it, still has and its horrid, but the equine one is rare, so not much known about it, thanks for reply.
