Big Issue Sellers and dogs

Just seen the most beautiful, tiny little puppy with a big issue seller. Wrapped in a towel, in a bag - shivering like hell.

Cue a sprint back to the office to fetch a blanket (well a very large pure wool pashmina) to wrap the puppy in. I managed to keep my mouth shut and not offer to buy it - but lord what a temptation.

Let's hope the pashmina stays on the pup...

I was out in town drinking at the beginning of the year and there was a big issue seller with a gorgeous little staffy called Ruby. She had a buster collar on and stitches across what used to be her eye Someone had tried to mug the bloke and she got hit with a plank of wood in the scuffle and lost her eye as a result.

It was freezing cold and as I bent down to fuss her, I couldn't beleive how swollen her eye/head was. I sobered up pretty quickly and burst into tears.

Bought her some pouches of dog food from Tesco Extra but couldn't help thinking that poor girl should've been curled up infront of a fire somewhere recovering.

I often think of her but haven't seen the guy since. I know many homeless people love their dogs as much as anyone but i've also witnessed many of them being illtreated and only seem to be there as a 'prop' for sympathy
