Big Knee...

Again!!! Different horse though..
Brand new horsey has broken himself. Not lame, just swollen knee. No heat. A small cut, not a huge amount of swelling. Not sure how he did it.
HAve left him in and put a cold gel pad round it. Also cold hosed it. Was going to take him for a dander tomorrow to see if that brought it down as assume it is bruising due to the injury?
Obviously aware of infection in a joint but no obvious infection or heat.
So am I doing anything wronG?

I would put straight on a course of bute and Trimediazine, and turnout daily. Also stable bandage both front legs, knees are the only innjuries where swelling will go down the leg.
Should be gone within days.
