Big Lugs (Missy) needing healing vibes please

Well today went out to let Missy have an hour or 2 in the field(decided to put them in over halloween due to her main field being on a busy road and little so and so's possibly stopping and chucking bangers in their field also fireworks going off) to find her near front leg swollen , she had a small gash just in the inside of her leg from sunday, how she did it I dont know as we had spotted it when we brought her in from the arena , she must have caught herself . Anyways put on some dermagel and left her to it , Went out today and her leg has gone twice the size now, her knee is that badly swollen that she can not bend it

. So decided to give it a hose out, and then boiled some water ( obviously letting it cool a little ) and held it to the cut , its been trying to heal but has obviously burst with the pressure. Rang vet and she has said if its still like this tomorrow after the bute then she will get a dose of antibiotics .

It's always worrying when they cut themselves and then it swells. I'm sure she will be fine; cold hosing and if necessary a course of antiB's should do the trick.

These blooming young horses, i think they would still injure themselves if they were kept bubble wrapped!!!

babies legs do tend to over-react and blow up though in my experience.lets hope shes just being a little sensitive!lol.
