Big shoulders and trying to find a saddle to fit

Hey guys, I have a tb x cob who has big shoulders. I am struggeling to get a jump saddle to fit him. Do you have any suggestions?

I have a TBx with huge sloping shoulders and a massive wither. I found Black Country was the only make which would fit her. She ended up in a medium wide fit, with extra flocking to clear her wither.

It might be worth finding a saddle that you can change the knee panels on so you can change from one discipline to another if its jus to benefit your riding/position but if you want the ultimate performance and comfort from the saddle for the horses benefit then perhaps that is not the answer.

If you find one, let me know because I have the same problem.

I had a tb x cob type (no formal breeding!) and struggled to find a good allround GP type saddle as he had a huge shoulder movement and a real 'ping' action over a fence so I needed something that I could sit behind but which wouldn't block him. We finally found a frank baines saddle worked really well for him- I think it was the Eclipse model??

Ideal saddles are great for big shouldered horses. W has an Ideal Impala pro on order.

You could try a Fhoenix Saddle - they do a jumping saddle called the Vogue GPT and they allow for total freedom of the shoulders as they are so soft and flexible.
