Please please help! I've got a problem with finding a saddle to fit my TB. He has fairly high withers, and has ma-husive shoulders! my RI described him as 'if he was a man he'd be the perfect shaped body builder, little ass and big shoulders!!' i've a gorgeous jumping saddle i got from his prev owner which fits him beautifully but she got if off some barmy woman and it was a one off! Its set back quite a lot with loads of room under the rolls for him to extend back into. I bought a KES GP leather saddle which seemed to fit him ok, until i started to ride more after winter and noticed he wasnt going as well in it and seemed to be getting rubs from it. RI had a look and said it fits him lovely over his withers and back, but it's too tight on his shoulders. I can't afford to have one custom made, i have the KES saddle to sell of part-ex and its worth about £300-350 but i have no idea what to look for! i also need a good but not mega expensive saddle fitter to come out too so can anyone recommend any fitters in the scunthrope area/that will travel to scunthorpe at all? obv i cant keep riding in a jumping saddle for hacks and general schooling! help!!!

*if anyone is interested in the KES saddle please pm me*

My TBx mare has absolutely no withers but massive shoulders and after worrying that I would have to pay a fortune that I didn't really have to have one made to measure my back lady got me a Barnsby John Whittaker close contact jumping saddle which sounds similar to yours and this is what I ride her in for schooling, hacking and obviously jumping. We also tried a Kes dressage saddle on her which was an Ok fit and we could probably have got away with it so might be worth you trying either a dressage saddle or perhaps a working hunter saddle if you really can't do what you want in the jump saddle. I only plan to showjump my mare so not a problem but obv if you want to show or do dressage you would need something else.

Good Luck I feel your pain!
