Hi guys.

Wimpy horse had a socking great lump on his elbow.

Its hard and sore to touch and warm.

The surrounding area swelling has gone down in the last few days but the main/affected area is still big.

Vet coming tomo am. Just wondered if anybody has any ideas?x

My mare had this when we first had her it was due to her lying down in the stable and either bringing her front leg round and close to the elbow or brining her hind leg forward and touching the elbow. We now always put a sausage boot on that leg at night and have never had trouble since. Gently massage and Witch Hazel took the lump away.

My horse currently has a lump on his elbow. It came up one evening while he was stabled. Vet agreed with my thought that he has clonked himself with a back foot. The lump is quite hard, which is odd for a hematoma, but there is no heat or soreness at all - you can poke and prod with no reaction and he is sound.
He is having cold hosing and Compagel twice daily and kaolin clay overnight for a couple of weeks to see if the swelling goes down, then vet again if not.

Here is the offending limb!
