I've had lots of problems with my 5 year old mare in the last few months - bolted with me, bronked etc - A&E once and generally confidence gone and OH desperate for me to get rid. Fast forward 3ish months, with all sorts of tests (including back scan - nothing conclusive found) time off for intermittent lameness, serious amount of groundwork etc and I am now back on and riding her with no issues in the school. Only very short sessions after lunging but she's as good as gold and has none of the issues she had (stands quietly to be mounted etc). Only a very small step in real term but for me and her its massive and I genuinely feel like we've turned a major corner on trust etc.
i am desperate to get her out and about but slowly and surely has done the trick to date so no rush! I got lots of help (vet, instructor, lessons myself) have an OH who realised I wouldn't sell her so has also helped massively. Onwards and upwards now!
