Big swollen knee ?

My mare came in yesterday with a huge swollen knee. She has a tiny cut on it which was leaking pus yesterday. She isn't lame but it's very painful to touch. Cold hosed & poultices yesterday. Turned her out but the bandage came off their was nothing on the poultice. Her knee today is still huge so cold hosed again & oultice applied again today. Any ideas what this could be. Should I turn her out or rest her? Any ideas are welcome.

Not sure, I'd call the vet and talk to them over the phone in case they feel they need to check her. Hope all goes well.

I'd get the vet. At the very least, it sounds as though she needs anti-biotics.

vet asap. joint could very well be infected which could be fatal.

yes totally agree any infection in or near a joint should be investigated straight away!!!

Agreed, if its the joint, catch it early and flush it, and it increases the chance of full recovery dramatically
