Just wanted to put on public forum a big thank you to "Pool house Vetinary Clinic".

I am currently having a horse treated for impacted colic (Ongoing since Thursday). The horse has been treated by their new vet "Sarah" (sorry uncertain of her surname) she has just joined Pool House. I have already found her to be very professional and knowledgeable and one of those rare vets that is down to earth and speaks everybodys lingo if you get my drift! I fully reccomend her to anyone as she is lovely to deal with and really knows her stuff, doesn't talk over your head and is very clear, concise and sympathetic and whilst I hope I don't see her too often I will always be happy to have her treat any one of my horses.

My biggest thank you really goes to "PETPLAN's" vet of the year award winner GIL RILEY, who has gone above and beyond most vets. Gil has treated our mare and been on constant stand by this last 3 days even coming to the yard when not on duty, in this bitterly cold weather to make sure our horse is on the road to recovery. Whilst she is not fully out of the woods yet I feel I owe Gil a huge thank you for his total support to his work. My husband and I have known Gil for quite some years and have always found him very easy to talk with and totally committed to his job. A huge thank you must also be given to his wife and family for allowing such a very committed man to follow up on his job out of his scheduled hours, when I am sure it must me inconvenient to them for him to talk or visit etc, yet still he puts the horses first.

I have written this piece to say a massive thank you on behalf of myself and my husband (orton Lane Stud) and I am quite sure there are many other people that use "Pool House Equine Vets" and other vets accross the country that really just need to say a masive thank you to these people without whom keeping horses 24/7 would be impossible.

Whilst I know we all pay for these services, without these truly dedicated and knowledgeable people we all really would be in a very bad place. So on behalf of my husband and I and all of our horses past, present and future a big thank for all the work to "ALL" of the team from the receptionists upwards to Gil, Richard, Sarah, Ed and all the other very hard workers including your very understanding families (Sorry to those I can't remember names of) at "POOL HOUSE EQUINE VETS

I totally agree with you - Gil vetted my boy last June and was so lovely and helpful. If I was ever in need of another vet in that area, they would be my first call!

p.s. hope your mare gets better soon!

couldnt agree more

i had gil and richard out to see my thoroughbred 2 yr old. he was diagnosed with redworm and they did everything they could to save him. he sadly passed away on january 4th 2012. gil and colin dis surgery on his private parts as his penis had swelled due to redworm damage. they were fab. he was also there when my thoroughbred had colic. he nearly died but he was brought back from the brink of death.
my eldest boy Chester suffered a severe and sudden twisted gut colic this morning. i called the vet surgery and they came out as soon as possible. i had James. he was fantastic with Chester and was very down to earth.

they are a fantastic veterinary group and all the vets are highjly commited to their job and have horses welfare top priority. cant thank them enough. i have tried a few vets in the area but Poole house were highly recommended by a few horsey friends of mine.

i would recommend them first if somebody asked me to put them in contact with a veterinary practice.

both my thoroughbred gelding 2 yr old and my eldest boy chester passed away peacefully. my thoroughbred who was saved from deaths door made a full recovery. excellent practise, superb staff. 10/10 for service :)
