Ok so its been aaaaaaages since i posted as been so busy but thought i would do an update as lots to update on now! First of all, danny the horse that did a splint bone and suspensory last year has finally been cleared for turnout
the vet is very pleased with his progress and everything being well he should be back out eventing in july!!! and then its just fingers crossed the leg holds up!
second of all, louie the exracer has been going very well indeed. been having lessons with phoebe buckley and she has been brilliant getting us both thinking more forward. We have done 2 of the eventer trials at keysoe at 90 and both times he jumped double clear and in the first one came 4th and the second one came 6th so very very pleased, especially with the second one as i was beyond useless as a week before it i had an accident when danny fell on the road and trampled on my back when getting back up, very luckily escaped with nerve damage and bruised back and kidney!! So anyway on the day of keysoe was a bit useless and couldnt really sit in the saddle but superstar pony flew round despite me on top
here is a flatwork photo of him and a link to some of the photos from keysoe! we have also been xc schooling and he was fab which im really pleased about as i had loads of problems with him stopping xc at the end of last season but he's feeling really confident and grown up now. Im taking his to JAS this weekend and next weekend so hopefully he will keep his halo on!

And last but definitely not least is the new boy william. I got him after danny's accident last year as it was (and still is) unsure if danny will stand up to eventing any more. I made the mistake of trusting someone i shouldnt have and have unfortunately ended up with a ****
he is nappy, extremely practised at rearing and occasionally throws massive rearing, bucking spinning strops that no-one can stay on and i mean no-one. There is nothing physically wrong with him and i tracked down his first owners and he has been like that ever since he was broken in. so after being dumped for the 2nd time on the road i decided to recruit phoebe buckley to help me. she has been amazing and at the moment we're sharing the riding of him, she has taken him to 2 of the eventer trials at keysoe too and in the first one he was a bit overwhelmed with the warm up but was pretty good, had 2 poles sj and one stop xc, at the second one he had a strop on him and she couldnt warm up at all and he was just constantly rearing, he showjumped well however and only had one pole but was a **** xc and although only had one stop there was much napping and rearing in between jumps. I have taken him to one dressage show and we came 3rd in the intro and he behaved very well all day. Had a lesson with phoebe yesterday, was a mixed bag, some very good moments and some twatty moments. He always looks for a fight and its very important you dont give it to him as then he will completely throw his toys out of the pram, you have to stay very calm and ride him forward through it or if he gets really bad pin his head round to his side so he cant keep going up. Phoebe is taking him to JAS this weekend and I am taking him to JAS next weekend so everyone keep your fingers crossed we survive
here are some photos from the lesson and a flatwork photo too!
Sorry for the massive long update (and please ignore my position in the photos, i am well aware it is pretty horrendous and i am working very hard on making it not quite so awful!!!!)
