When brought Buddy i was told he would make no more than 15.2hh...i think now he might make a little bit taller.

Hes 3 years old Tb x welsh sec d and i sized him up against a 15.2hh pure welsh and he was a few inches bigger than him!!!

I would be right in think Buddy has still got some growing to do wouldnt i? What height should i be expecting him to reach?

Bear's got welsh, and then crossed with a tbxhannorvarian and when I got him 2 years ago as a 3yr old he was 14.1hh, he's now 15hh and still filling out!!

I take it he could turn out to be anything then really?

All that i keep noticing is how much he seems to be shooting up at the moment! Every month im having people on yard saying hes grown more you no!

Will be interesting to see how he does turn out.

Scotsmare - no i havent as i dont own a stick but may be a very good thing to do. Marley just look about 15.2hh though but i think i should measure him and then Buddy and see just what height they both are.

His feed has been cut down after backwards behaviour so maybe he will slow down growing a little now.

Yes he has! A Tape measure will do for measuring! Inches divided by 4, work on 14.75 as being 14.3 etc etc. Measure him correctly now, work on gaining a further few inches by the time he's 6ish! A trick i was told of was as follows:

Measure to 1/2 way of Fetlock Joint to Point of elbow. Rotate this measurement round and what ever you have above the withers should be how far he has to grow! I tried it on my 16 yr old mare to see if it was accurate and it was!

When we bought our foal were told would be about 15.2hh ish, when mature, we've since found out that he's shire cross (with is dad being 17hh ish) He's just turned 2 and is already at 15.1hh!!! We've resigned ourselves to the fact that he's gonna be a big un, but he's so gentle and considerate that it doesn't matter how big he gets!

Eeeek, my (almost) 15 month old filly is 15.1hh on her bum. I use a measuring stick. Her Mum's only 15.1 herself. And I'm only 5'1" - hope she doesn't grow too big or I'll never be able to hoist my leg up to the stirrup iron - mounting block or no mounting block
