Are those the lovely pimply reins that kete negus do?
If so they feel lovely compared to normal chunky reins but you just cannot keep a hold on them. My instructor used to remark on this and it was the reins ..not me!

The Jeffries ones??
Far nicer than ordinary rubber ones, and far more grippy in the wet.
Well worth it.
