I’m in the process of trying to order when I need feed wise online to prevent a shop visit.
I have been feeding TB biotin since I’ve had him.
I use the Equimins one as most seem to contain Alfalfa which I don’t want.
I also want brewers yeast for cob to help with his skin, poss sweetitch. He’s also been having the Equimins biotin atm
Is it pretty much the same stuff?
The ingredients on the Biotin pot is mainly Brewers yeast. Would a tub of Gold label yeast that I can get from Amazon suit both? And is is palatable? (One can be fussy)

They usually love brewers yeast. And marmite! It is brilliant for the gut, which is good for the feet. But I would swap the biotin for Equimins no iron/manganese balancer if you want to improve the feet.

You need 50g a day of brewers yeast (or 15g of the live stuff yea-sacc), so it's cheaper to buy it in 25kg sacks. Charnwood sell it, or you can get angler's supplies from ebay. Just make sure it's not made from stuff used for a sour beer like the Chekoslovakians make, because a lot of horses won't eat that.

Biotin is used in the body to make enzymes and amino acids. Brewers Yeast is quite high in it. but you can buy pure biotin.

Brewers Yeast is the yeast left over from making brewed drinks and is very good for gut health (proven scientifically),

Yea-sacc is a live, and more effective, yeast of the type used to make the drinks, so you need less. Farmers use a lot if it, it increases milk yields.

No that’s fine! Not hijacking it’s pretty much what I’m trying to get a handle on!
I was told when someone was looking through my stuff that I may as well just by brewers yeast!

Is Anglers supplies the seller? Would you happen to have a link?
So you’d feed the Equimins balancer mentioned and the yeast or the Equimins for the one and yeast for the other?

Ohhhh...... I didn't know that Brewers Yeast and Biotin was the same thing!

Is it??

Can anyone clarify?

The reason I need to know is that apparently Biotin is a no-no for horses with mallenders/sallenders.

(edited) Sorry if highjacking btw.
Any reason why it’s a no no? Just thinking if it’s supposed to be good for skin?

They aren’t the same thing, biotin is a vitamin, brewers yeast is a by product - but BY is high in biotin.
It would be rare a horse was sufficiently deficient in biotin to need a purer supplement of it.

BY is probably a better supplement to feed anyway

The Charnwoods one is £66 ? obviously it’s huge would the feed rate of that be 50g per day? Im not really sure they would eat that. It sounds a lot

Why not buy a small bag from ebay from one of the sellers who sell a range of sizes, then buy a big bag if it works and they'll eat it?

The cheapest one I'd recommend is Food Pura. The gold label one didn't work as well for us but has loads of great reviews. I looked at Charnwoods but at 50g per day there was too much to store for one horse.
