Has anyone got any experience of Biotin causing side effects - most notably any changes in horse behaviour especially with regards whizzing them up? Never heard of it myself but might be the only explanation I have got left for why my boy has morphed in the last few weeks!!!!

Nope, all three of my horses are on it, including two very highly strung ones. Neither have got loopy, and the more laid back one has not become any more forward going

Oh well - thanks for feedback, was rather hoping it was the cause as have ruled out rest of the options! Will just have to put it down to being winter grumpy and not getting enough hunting as rider pregnant!

What is the biotin in? some biotin supplements are predominantly sugar/glucose, and that will cause behaviour problems with some horses.

To get the b vitamins without the glucose, you can feed brewers yeast. I feed a 50gram dose (a big handful) but I don't feed any commercial balancer.
