At the moment I am feeding a specific hoof supplement to my TB who has resonable feet but he does have a sandcrack so i want to make sure he is going to continually grow good horn. However I am just about to start feeding another supplelment (for a diff problem!) which has 20 mcg of biotin in. Is that enough to maintain good horn growth or should i keep him on his hoof supp? - i don't want to overdose him with biotin?!!! any thoughts...........

Biotin is not a vitamin that you can cause problems by 'over-dosing' with.
It is a water soluble one so the body cannot store it but will excrete any that it can't use.
the 20mcg dose is too low if you know your horse usually needs a hoof supplement (for any reason) - just make sure that your new supplement doesn't contain too much selenium as that is about the only mineral known to cause problems in horses. he should not be receiving more than 0.2mg selenium per day from supplements.
