There are a few around our area at the moment. One being placed next to the train bridge in the corner of the field. So if a nervous horse reacted badly to the bang, the likelihood of a tragic accident is inevitable. Sorry, just needed to let off steam! Luckily mine didn't bat an eyelid!

They are an absolute menace in my opinion! Our local estate manager is experimenting with kites that look like a bird of prey and are attached to a tall pole. The horses look but don't seem at all bothered -seems to offer a much betterand safer option.

I find them a nightmare in some places, right next to gates on bridleways. Some poor lady came off at the weekend whilst attempting to open a gate and then bang!! luckily she and horse were ok. The worst thing is you just do not know they are there till they go off.

I have one about 5m from my field. I had hoped it would desensitise Fergs, but he still wets himself when schooling in the nearby field and it goes off  Still, he really ought to grow a pair and get over it...
